What does the ACE Precision Tune-up check?
Maintenance on an air conditioner covers the coil, the charge, the wiring, the parts that wear, the drain, the thermostat and the airflow. A furnace is a different list, burner cleaning through flue and ventilation checks, and it is best booked early in the fall. See heating for that one.

- The surface that actually pulls heat out of the house.
- Refrigerant charge
- Too low and too high both cost cooling.
- Electrical connections
- Loose terminals sit behind a lot of tripping breakers.
- Capacitor and contactor wear
- The parts that start the motors, worn a little on every cycle.
- Condensate drain
- The line that carries the water out, before it turns up around the air handler.
- Thermostat calibration
- So the system is reacting to the real room temperature.
- Airflow
- Across the coil and out through the ducts.
Spring
A heat pump is serviced twice a year, with both operating modes verified.
